Should I do flat stomach exercises or buy the latest gimmick on TV? Well, of course you should ONLY do flat stomach exercises… There are a couple of them that really help you get a flatter midsection quickly, but my all time favorite is the stomach vacuum exercise. This also helps if you have a protruding or distended belly.
This is an exercise designed not to lose fat or get rid of fat covering your abs, but to slim down your midsection by sucking in the whole abdominal area towards your spine. The stomach vaccum is one of the most effective exercises and it’s also very easy to do and quite discreet. You can do it ALL THE TIME in any location and get a great slim waistline from it. You guessed it, I’m doing the exercise RIGHT NOW as I’m typing this article for you.
What you do is simply, SUCK IN YOUR BELLY and flex the abs, constantly. You can even put your belt a little tighter so that you HAVE TO push in the belly to the back of your spine. This works the Transversus abdominis muscle and builds up your “inner ab strength”. Most people have NEVER done this exercise and probably never will. It’s a shame because it’s a really effective exercise to slim down your waist, just a little tiny bit each week.
Do this exercise pretty much all the time and you will get great results. A good way to make sure you do this exercise is to walk in places where you need to suck in your belly… The beach for example. Ok, let’s look at a video of how the stomach vacuum is done. (Keep in mind, this doesn’t burn fat or get you “ripped abs”, it will just make your waist smaller).
This girl is doing the vacuum exercise as well as something called the nauli. I cannot do that, but I do the vacuum and flex my abs as much as possible. This helps the midsection shrink and allows you to get more of a “V-shape” or flat belly depending on if you are girl or guy.
